Let’s celebrate Love

Even if you don’t agree with the origin of Valentine’s Day, we can agree that it’s nice to have a designated month where Love is celebrated. With that said, Have you planned to celebrate Love & your loved ones? I find that celebrating love whether it romantic or platonic… It does the body good. The saying, “it’s nice to be nice”, is more true than most may realize. When demonstrating love for some it literally makes you just as happy, if not happier than the receiver.

So now that we have that out of the way, What have you planned for your loved one(s). Before you start thinking “well, I’m single” thoughts, there has to be someone that you would like sprinkle a little love in their life.

Let’s see here, if you want to surprise your parents with a card with a love note included, mailed to their work or home address. That’s sure to put a smile on everyone’s face, yours and theirs.

A surprise snack preferably shaped like a heart would surely make your sweetheart smile.

Platonic Friend
*disclaimer. Please be sensitive to your friend’s relationship status when sending love gifts, if your friend is the opposite gender.
A great love gift for a friend… A handwritten love letter, a letter that explains what they mean to you and why. Be sure to include pivotal moments in your relationship and fond memories that will make them reminisce and smile at the same time.

Last but certainly not least, Your Romantic Love
I could go on and on with ideas and your regular chocolates & flowers trick would never make the list. Try something different, new and refreshing.

Couples Painting with a Twist
Candlelight dinner will always work
One of the cutest Valentine’s Day dates would be to utilize frontier airlines and all of their cheap plane fares. Who knows you may stumble upon a $29 flight to New Orleans like I did. My plan is to hang, laugh, explore and eat good within one 24hour cycle then head back home. The perfect date, inexpensive and off the beaten path.
3. Find a roller or ice skating rink in your city, then head over to a burger joint to have good ole teenage love kind of fun.
(If NYC is close to you, let me suggest Ice skating at Rockefeller Center and then Burger & Lobster).

The point is choose to celebrate love any chance you get and most certainly on the days designated to do so.
